Gibbons and Stone Organize Virtual Conference With CSU Faculty

Associate Professor of Mathematics Courtney Gibbons and Visiting Assistant Professor of Mathematics and Statistics Branden Stone organized a virtual workshop with Dr. Federico Galetto and Dr. Hiram Lopez of Cleveland State University.

The workshop, Macaulay2 Workshop and Conference at Cleveland State University, was originally funded by the National Science Foundation as an in-person conference at CSU. Because of COVID-19, the conference switched to a virtual format.

The participants are professional mathematicians from academia and industry who will develop software patches and packages for the commutative algebra software Macaulay2,  a leading open-source software for symbolic computations in commutative algebra and related fields. Commutative algebra and open-source software enthusiasts can follow the progress of the workshop on GitHub
