Grace Stadnyk '10 attended the Women in Math in New England conference at Smith College on Sept. 26 where she gave a talk titled "Towers of Hanoi Groups and Their Limit Spaces." The talk was based on research on fractal analysis that she conducted this summer at the University of Connecticut.

The Towers of Hanoi game is a mathematical puzzle where a stack of disks sitting on one of three pegs must be moved from their original peg to any of the other pegs. The talk discussed different ways to model the solution to the game as more and more disks are added to the game and what happens to these models as the number of pegs is increased.
