XRF Lab Technicians Richard Conrey and Laureen Wagoner.

XRF Senior Laboratory Technician Rick Conrey and XRF Laboratory Technician Laureen Wagoner recently attended the 10th International Conference on the Analysis of Geological and Environmental Materials. The meeting took place at Macquarie University in Sydney, Australia.

Conrey and Wagoner presented two posters, both concerning details of XRF analytical methods used by the Hamilton Analytical Lab.

Hamilton’s automated x-ray fluorescence (XRF) spectrometer uses high-energy x-rays to measure elemental concentrations of 44 chemical elements in a variety of geological materials. It is housed in the Geosciences Department.
