The Hamilton Analytical Lab offers elemental analysis of rock, sediments and soils for the broader geoscience community.

Utilizing our state-of-the-art Thermo ARL Perform'X XRF spectrometer and our unique crystal-collimator combinations, we can measure the concentration of elements ranging from C to U from the low ppm to 100 wt%.

beadWith our clean and efficient sample preparation facilities we can quickly prepare your samples for analysis. And, we are dedicated to providing the highest quality results in the shortest possible time.

With small spot analysis (to 0.5 mm) capabilities we can tackle small samples and slabs or billets where sample conservation is of concern. A Helium shutter allows analysis of a wide range of powders and liquids for quantitative volatile and carbon content.

Annual XRF Short Course


This highly regarded training course is known for its breadth and quality of instruction. Topics will include: fundamentals of x-ray physics, WDXRF and EDXRF instrumentation, introduction to quantitative major and trace element analysis, and sample preparation. Subject matter is suitable for individuals ranging from students to current XRF operators.
