Women's soccer plays to scoreless draw with Wesleyan

The Hamilton College Continentals remained unbeaten in their last four games with a 0-0 tie against the Wesleyan University Cardinals in a NESCAC game at Hamilton's Love Field on Sept. 28.

Liza Gergenti ’14 stopped six shots and extended her shutout streak to 178 minutes, 9 seconds for Hamilton (3-1-2 overall, 1-1-2 NESCAC). Gergenti has 16 career shutouts, including five in overtime.

The Continentals are 2-0-1 all-time against the Cardinals. Hamilton outshot Wesleyan 24-8, including a 9-0 advantage in the overtime sessions. Jessica Tollman '15 kept the Cardinals (0-3-3, 0-2-2) in the game with 12 saves.

The Continentals had a great chance with just seconds left in the first overtime. Kendall Daly ’17 redirected a corner kick taken by Becca Rees ’16 but the shot was stopped.

Hamilton continues NESCAC play at home against nationally ranked No. 19 Amherst College on Saturday, Oct. 5. Wesleyan hosts Elms College on Tuesday, Oct. 1.
