Box score

Despite the NESCAC loss, the Continentals (7-6, 3-6 NESCAC) can clinch a berth in the conference’s championship tournament with a win Saturday against Colby. Hamilton has qualified for the eight-team NESCAC playoffs twice in the four years since joining the league in field hockey (2011 and 2014).

Mary Kalb ’19 made a career-high nine saves for the Continentals, who were outshot 21-12.

Casey Brown ’16 scored her eighth goal of the season to spoil the shutout for the Ephs (10-3, 6-2). Sarah Stinebaugh ’19 assisted on the goal, giving her three points this fall.

Williams took the lead six minutes in on a goal by Kara Sperry. The Ephs doubled their lead early in the second half on a goal by Brigid Bruno (who had assisted on Sperry’s score) and increased their lead to 3-0 with 16:45 left on a goal by Alex Bennett. Kit Rosen assisted on both second-half goals for Williams.

The Continentals play a pair of home games as part of Hamilton’s Family Weekend, taking on Colby Saturday at noon -- with a postseason bid at stake -- before closing out the regular season Sunday at 1 p.m. against Utica.
