Emily Harrison and Jess Buttery
Assistant Professor of Theatre Emily K. Harrison and Assistant Professor of Instruction in Theatre Jess Buttery presented their original work, Things We Will Miss, as part of the 2026 PhysFestNYC on Jan. 13. The annual festival, which is highly selective, “celebrates, enriches, and envisions the field of physical theater.”

Things We Will Miss, which received a workshop production in Boulder, Colo., in 2023 and premiered at the 2024 Edinburgh Festival Fringe in Scotland, is a collage-style devised work exploring the (potential) collapse of the Anthropocene. A personal meditation on the climate crisis, it explores the beauty and inevitability of impermanence, viscerally navigating the grief and beauty, the horror and hope inherent in being alive in this very moment.

Created collaboratively, the show featured performances and/or contributions from several Hamilton alumni and current students, including Juliet Davidson ’23, Leslie De La Rosa ’25, Del Gonzales ’25, Jules Henderson ’26, Mer Morales ’25, and Irmak Sagir ’24.
