Hamilton College men's basketball player Matt Hart '16 (Orchard Park, N.Y./Canisius HS) was selected the NESCAC Player of the Week on Jan. 27.

Hart averaged 25.0 points in a 1-1 week for the Continentals. He shot 58.1 percent from the floor, including 6 of 11 from 3-point range, and made all eight of his free-throw attempts.

The 6-foot, 2-inch guard grabbed an offensive rebound and made a baseline jumper just as the buzzer sounded to lift Hamilton to an 85-83 overtime win against Elmira College on Jan. 21. He finished that game with a career-high 30 points. Hart added 20 points in a loss at nationally ranked No. 9 Williams College on Jan. 25. He has scored 20 or more in four straight games.

Hart leads the conference in scoring with 20.8 points per game and is ranked ninth in free throw percentage at 83.8 percent (88-105). He has started all 18 games this season.

The Continentals (9-9, 1-4 NESCAC) travel to SUNY Institute of Technology for a non-conference game on Tuesday, Jan. 28. Hamilton rounds out the week with a NESCAC home game against Middlebury College on Sunday, Feb. 2.
