Jason Haas '05 was interviewed by local NPR affiliate WRVO about Hamilton's participation in the national Day of Silence on April 10. Haas organized the Hamilton event, in which supporters of LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender) people took a nine-hour vow of visible silence to call attention to the ways LGBT people are silenced on college campuses.

On April 10, students all over the country who support increasing accessibility for  LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender) people in education participated in the Day of Silence Project.  On this day, LGBT people and allies took a nine-hour vow of visible silence.  This act of visible silence represents the daily fight LGBT face against heterosexism, homophobia, and transphobia and calls attention to the ways LGBT people are silenced on college campuses.
