The Hamilton College Continentals wrapped up two days of competition at the 2014 New York State Collegiate Track Conference (NYSCTC) Indoor Championships, placing eighth at the 13-team event held at St. Lawrence University’s Newell Field House on Saturday.

Joe Jensen ’15, who won two events, was named the men's Outstanding Track Performer. Jensen set a meet record in the 200-meter dash, winning in 22.12 seconds. He posted the nation’s seventh-best time and lowered his own school record by 0.13 seconds.

Jensen remained unbeaten this season in the 400-meter dash, winning in 49.00 seconds. His school-record time is Division III’s second-best this year.

Sam Reider ’14 rounded out Saturday’s winners for Hamilton. Reider placed first in the 500-meter dash and qualified for the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III Indoor Championships with a time of 66.57 seconds. The 2014 championships are at the Reggie Lewis Track & Athletic Center in Boston on Friday and Saturday, March 7 and 8.

Two other Continentals earned points on Saturday. Adam Pfander ’16 took sixth place in the 3,000-meter run with an ECAC-qualifying time of 8:49.86 and Will Tifft '14 was seventh in the 35-pound weight throw with a mark of 15.02 meters (49 feet, 3.5 inches).

Hamilton’s 3,200-meter relay of James Bryan ’16, Grant Whitney ’17, Andrew Mandelbaum ’16 and Evan Abelson ’16 placed eighth in 8:16.12.
