Joe Jensen ’15 (West Windsor, N.J./West Windsor-Plainsboro HS North) of the Hamilton College baseball team has been named to the 2015 NESCAC All-Star Team. Jensen, the Continentals’ center fielder, earned second-team honors for the second year in a row.
Jensen started every game and led the Continentals with a .398 batting average, 47 hits, 29 runs scored, 24 stolen bases and a .450 on-base percentage. His stolen base total leads the NESCAC and he ranks among the conference leaders in batting average (third), hits (sixth) and on-base percentage (ninth). Hamilton’s lead-off hitter, Jensen hit six doubles, three triples and a home run while driving in 14 runs.
A three-year starter, Jensen finished as the program’s all-time leader in hits (135), runs (90), stolen bases (78) and triples (six). He helped Hamilton win 16 games this spring, tying a school record. The Continentals’ 16-14 mark gave them their first winning season since 1990.
Baseball America named Jensen the top draft prospect in Division III during the winter. Jensen’s season started just a day after he competed in two events at the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships, where he earned All-America honors in both the men's 200- and 400-meter dashes.
