Lavinia Limon, interim executive director of Immigration and Refugee Services of America (IRSA) and the U.S. Committee for Refugees (USCR) spoke at the Arthur Levitt Public Affairs Center at Hamilton College on Nov. 2. Ms. Limon was in the area for Utica's Refugee Center's celebration of the 10,000th refugee for this area. There is currently a moratorium on bringing new refugees into the country.

Ms. Limon has more than 25 years of experience working on behalf of immigrants and refugees and extensive knowledge of the domestic and international refugee resettlement process. During the Clinton Administration, she served as the Director of the Office of Refugee Resettlement, Department of Health and Human Services.
