The Liberty League released its 2009-10 preseason coaches poll results for men's and women's basketball on Nov. 11.
The Hamilton men received two first-place votes and ended up in second place with 42 points. St. Lawrence University finished first with five first-place votes and a total of 44 points. The Continentals open the season with the Hamilton Tip-Off Tournament on Friday, Nov. 20. Hamilton plays SUNY Canton in the first round at 8 p.m.
The Hamilton women landed in fifth place with 24 points. Rensselaer topped the eight-team field with five first-place votes and 47 points. The Continentals begin their season with a game against Emerson College at Emerson's Tip-Off Tournament on Nov. 20 at 7:30 p.m.
