A new book, Feminist Metaphysics: Explorations in the Ontology of Sex, Gender, and the Self, includes the essay "The Politics and the Metaphysics of Experience," written by Marianne Janack, the Sidney Wertimer Associate Professor of Philosophy. The book is edited by Charlotte Witt of the University of New Hampshire and published this month by Springer Press.
The paper is a discussion of the concept of experience and the debates surrounding its use in feminist theories of identity and knowledge. Janack is also working on a book that will deal with the topic in greater depth. Tentatively titled What We Talk About When We Talk About Experience, the book is under contract with Stanford University Press.
