 Ann Owen

Ann Owen, the Henry Platt Bristol Professor of Economics, participated in an American Public Media Marketplace segment titled “The administration has based its budget on 3 percent GDP. What happens if we don’t get there?” on May 25.

The first commentator in the broadcast, Owen was doubtful that the economy will grow at 3 percent, one of the assumptions on which the Trump administration budget is constructed. She observed that productivity has slowed down and that to get more GDP growth, workers will need to become more productive.
