The Hamilton College and Community Masterworks Chorale with members of Symphoria will perform Bach’s Mass in B Minor on Tuesday, Nov. 29, at 7:30 p.m., in Wellin Hall, Schambach Center for Music and the Performing Arts.

The performance is conducted by G. Roberts Kolb with soloists Sarah Ziegler, soprano; Danan Tsan, mezzo-soprano; Carl Johengen, tenor; and David Neal, bass.

Bach’s Mass in B Minor was the composer’s final great achievement, capping his career with a work that transcends historical periods or religious functions. On July 28, 1750, less than a year after completing the Mass, Bach died in Leipzig, due to complications from treatment following eye surgery. The Mass in B minor was not performed in its entirety in Bach’s lifetime.

Tickets for this performance are $10 for adults and $8 for senior citizens and students. It is free for Hamilton College students.  For more information call the box office at 859-4331 or visit www.hamilton.edu/peformingarts.
