Hamilton College’s Jimmy Alexis '13 finished first in the pole vault and the Continentals placed 10th at the 2013 NESCAC Outdoor Championships at Tufts University's Ellis Oval/Dussault Track in Somerville, Mass., on April 27.

RESULTS

Alexis recorded a height of 4.45 meters (14 feet, 7.25 inches) and the runner-up only reached 4.30 meters. Alexis is the first Hamilton athlete to win the men's pole vault at the NESCAC Championships since James Russell '09 claimed the top spot in 2009.

Hamilton had a great showing in the triple jump as two athletes scored points. Michael Nkereuwem '16 took fifth place with a distance of 13.26 meters (43 feet, 6 inches), and Leonard Kilekwang '16 reached 12.82 meters (42 feet, 0.75 inches).

Tufts captured the team title with 203 points, Bates College came in second with 166 points and Middlebury College rounded out the top three with 140. The Continentals finished with 15 points.
