Hamilton College finished sixth in the varsity eights third-level final at the 2011 Eastern College Athletic Conference championships/National Invitational Collegiate Regatta held in Worcester, Mass., on Lake Quinsigamond on May 8.

Sunday's weather was variable with sun and rain, and temperatures in the 60s with 10-to-15 mph winds. 

Hamilton's entry in the varsity eights finished sixth in the first heat in 6:21.094 before placing sixth again in the third-level final with a time of 6:35.018. The University of Massachusetts ended up first in the third-level final in 6:15.835. The University of Michigan claimed first place in the varsity eights grand final.

Hamilton claimed third place in the first heat of the lightweight fours in 7:02.492, and crossed the finish line in 7:19.505 in the grand final. Michigan took first place with a time of 6:59.787.

Jamie Leiva-Cabrera ’14 was coxswain for the varsity eights. The rest of the boat included Jeff Cardoni ’11 at stroke, Max Geiduschek ’14 in the bow seat and the following rowers (seats seven through two in descending order): Chris Visentin ‘12, Aaron Whiteman ‘13, Adam Minchew ‘12, Grant Meglis ‘14, Joe Ely ‘12 and Rafael De La Rosa ‘12.

Jessica Griffith ’13 was coxswain for the lightweight fours. The rowers included Gibson Hoyt ‘12 at stroke, Rob Fagan ‘14 in the bow seat, Dylan Jackson ‘13 in 3-seat and Matt Poterba ‘12 in 2-seat.
