Hamilton College placed first in the lightweight eights at the Head of the Genesee Regatta held on the Genesee River in Rochester, N.Y., on Oct. 16.

Racing conditions were sunny with tempertures in the mid 50s, and strong 10 to 20 mph tailwinds with a strong tail current.

Against Ithaca College, Hamilton's entry in the lightweight eights finished first on the 5-kilometer course with a time of 16:47.20, and 4:32.78 in the 1,500-meter sprint.

Hamilton took seventh place out of 12 teams in the open fours with a time of 19:48.12 on the 5-kilometer course, and 5:18.11 in the 1,500-meter sprint.

Jaime Leiva-Cabreta '14 was coxswain for the lightweight eight. The rest of the boat included Jeff Cardoni '11 at stroke, Brandon Wilson '14 in the bow seat and the following rowers (seats seven through two in descending order): Chris Visentin ‘12, Gibson Hoyt '12Dylan Jackson ‘13, Jake Lucas ‘13, Rob Fagan '14 and Matt Poterba '12.

Coyler Woolston '14 was coxswain for the open four. The rest of the boat included Andrew Rippel '14 at stroke, Max Geiduschek '14 in the bow seat, Aaron Whiteman '13 in 3-seat and Rafael De La Rosa ‘12 in 2-seat.

Hamilton competes at the Head of the Charles Regatta in Boston, Mass., on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 23 and 24.
