Hamilton College finished third in the eights race at the Bridge to Bridge Regatta on the Erie Canal in Rome, N.Y., on Oct. 6.

Conditions were rainy and breezy with temperatures in the 50s. Colgate University and St. Lawrence University rowed in the event as well.

In the eights, Hamilton crossed the line in 23:45.7 on the 6.6-kilometer course. Colgate won the race with a time of 22:31.2 and St. Lawrence’s novice entry finished second in 23:32.3.

In the fours, Colgate’s "A" entry finished first out of eight boats with a time of 24:44.9. Hamilton’s "A" entry placed second with a time of 25:47.7. Hamilton’s "B" finished fourth in 26:37.9 and the novice entry finished sixth in 27:26.1.

Jamie Leiva-Cabrera '14 was coxswain for the eights. The rest of the boat included Aaron Whiteman '13 at stroke, Simon Judd '13 in the bow seat and the following rowers (seats seven through two in descending order): Dylan Jackson '13, Jake Wagner '15, Landon Morin '16, Grant Meglis '15, Alex Cates '15 and Jared Lippman '16.

Leiva-Cabrera was also coxswain for the fours "A" entry. The rest of the boat included Whiteman at stroke, Jackson in the bow seat, Morin in the 3-seat and Meglis in the 2-seat.

Monica Gutierrez '15 was coxswain for the "B" entry. The rest of the lineup included Lippman at stroke, Philip Ewing '15 in the bow seat, Patrick English '15 in the 3-seat and Andrew Szatkowski '15 in the 2-seat.

Sawyer Konys '16 was coxswain for the novice fours. Marc Hosrschman '16 was at stroke and Ronald Sprague '16 was in the bow seat. Russ DeGrazia '15 was in the 3-seat and Tianshu Liu '16 was in the 2-seat.

Hamilton will compete in the Head of the Genesee in Rochester, N.Y., on Saturday, Oct. 13.
