Hamilton College placed third out of four entries in the men's eights in the 2013 Bridge to Bridge Regatta held on the Erie Canal in Rome, N.Y., on Oct. 12.

Results

The race distance was 6.6 kilometers, and the weather conditions were sunny with a 10 to 15 mph head wind. Temperatures started out in the 50's and rose into the mid-60's by the afternoon. Colgate University and St. Lawrence University also competed in the regatta.

Hamilton posted a time of 26 minutes, 55.38 seconds in the eights race. Colgate took first place with a time of 25:47.67 and St. Lawrence's "A" entry was runner-up in 26:46.70.

In the novice eights, Hamilton captured first place with a time of 26:18.87. Colgate finished second in 26:52.76. Hamilton also won the men's fours against two St. Lawrence entries with a time of 26:33.68. The top St. Lawrence boat posted a time of 28:10.48.

In the men's small boats category, Jack Wildman '15 (2-seat) and Max Geiduschek '14 (1-seat) ended up third with a time of 29:27.97. A Colgate men's double was first in 28:07.04.

The coxswain for the men's eights was Cole Mattran '15. Philip Ewing '15 was in the bow seat and Andrew Szatkowski '15 was in stroke seat. Seats seven through two in descending order were as follows:  Andrew Sprague '16, Patrick English '15, Russ DeGrazia '15, Marc Horschman '16, Gardner Reed '14 and Tianshu Liu '16.

The coxswain for the novice eights was Bowin Lee '17. Mark Colleran '17 was in the bow seat and Will Fierston '16 was in stroke seat. Seats seven through two in descending order were as follows:  Alec Melone '16, Richard Wenner '17, George Segee-Wright '17, Charlie Feinberg '17, Michael Burchesky '17 and Oliver Magnusson '17.

The coxswain for the men's fours was Sawyer Konys '16. Jared Lippman '16 was in the bow seat and Kyle Leahy '14 was in stroke seat. Landon Morin '16 was in the 3-seat and Grant Meglis '14 was in the 2-seat.

Hamilton rows in the Head of the Charles Regatta on Saturday and Sunday, October 19 and 20.
