Hamilton College finished first in the varsity fours against Union College to bring home the Gilman Bowl in a regatta held on the Mohawk River in Schenectady, N.Y., on April 2.

Skies were sunny with 40-degree temperatures, and there was a 15-to-20 mile-per-hour head wind down the 2,000-meter course. Hamilton's varsity four completed the course in 8 minutes, 34 seconds, and Union followed with a time of 8:48.

Hamilton finished second in the varsity eights in 7:23. Union crossed the finish line with a time of 6:50 seconds, and a second entry took third place in 7:50. Union took the Gilman Cup from Hamilton for the first time since 2006.

Jessica Griffith ’13 was coxswain for the varsity four. The rest of the boat included Gibson Hoyt '12 at stroke, Simon Judd ’13 in the bow seat, Dylan Jackson ’13 in 3-seat and Matt Poterba ‘12 in 2-seat.

Jamie Leiva-Cabrera ’14 was coxswain for the varsity eight. The rest of the boat included Jeff Cardoni ‘11 at stroke, Max Geiduschek ’14 in the bow seat and the following rowers (seats seven through two in descending order): Chris Visentin ‘12, Aaron Whiteman ‘13, Joe Ely ‘12, Grant Meglis ‘14, Adam Minchew ’12 and Rafael De La Rosa ’12.
