Ben Yeo '15 paced Hamilton to seventh place out of 21 teams at the 36th annual SUNY Geneseo Cross Country Invitational at Letchworth State Park on Oct. 4.


Yeo finished in 15th place out of 289 runners with a personal-record time of 25:30 on the 8-kilometer course. Alex Brimstein -- a Geneseo alum -- posted the winning time of 24:35.1. Rochester Institute of Technology's Matt Giannino was runner-up in 24:50.2.

Hamilton's Harry Sullivan '16 was 30th in a collegiate-best 25:40.3 and Evan Abelson '16 ended up in 53rd place with a Hamilton-best time of 26:16.1. Jack Pierce '17 landed in 63rd place with a time of 26:31.9 and Daniel Baer '15 rounded out the Continentals' top five in 78th place and a time of 26:44.9. Pierce and Baer also set personal records for an 8-kilometer course.

Hamilton totaled 201 team points. Nationally ranked No. 9 Geneseo captured the team title with 41 points, No. 12 Dickinson College was runner-up with 86 and No. 30 SUNY Oneonta finished third with 91 team points.

The Continentals host their own Hamilton College Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 11.
