Hamilton College's Peter Kosgei '10 (Kapsabet, Kenya/Kapsabet Boys' HS) earned New England Small College Athletic Conference performer of the week honors for men's cross country on Nov. 2.
Kosgei's weekly honor is his third from the NESCAC this season. He captured his third straight individual title in the 2009 NESCAC championships at Wickham Park in Manchester, Conn., on Nov. 1.
Kosgei topped the 121-runner field with a time of 25 minutes, 40 seconds on the 8,000-meter course. Kosgei is the second male athlete to win three NESCAC cross country individual championships in a row, and just the third to own three NESCAC career titles in the 27-year history of the event. Kosgei crossed the finish line 17 seconds ahead of the runner-up from Williams College.
Hamilton is off until Saturday, Nov. 14, when the team competes in the 2009 NCAA Division III Atlantic regional championships at Letchworth State Park in Geneseo, N.Y.
