Hamilton College's Peter Kosgei '10 (Kapsabet, Kenya/Kapsabet Boys' HS) earned New England Small College Athletic Conference most outstanding performer honors in men's cross country for the third straight year based on his performance at the 2009 conference championships on Nov. 1.
Kosgei captured his third consecutive NESCAC individual title on Sunday at Wickham Park in Manchester, Connecticut. He topped the 121-runner field with a time of 25 minutes, 40 seconds on the 8,000-meter course. He is one of seven athletes on the all-conference first team.
Kosgei is the second male runner to win three NESCAC cross country individual championships in a row, and just the third to own three NESCAC career titles in the 27-year history of the event. He crossed the finish line 17 seconds ahead of the runner-up from Williams College.
