Hamilton College's Peter Kosgei '11 (Kapsabet, Kenya/Kapsabet Boys' School) was selected the men's cross country performer of the week by the New England Small College Athletic Conference on Sept. 13.
Kosgei placed first out of 70 runners with a time of 18:50.0 on the 6-kilometer course as Hamilton won its own five-team short course invitational. The Continentals edged SUNY Cortland for the team title. Cortland was tied for 34th in the preseason Division III coaches Top 35 poll.
Kosgei has won nine NCAA individual titles at national cross country and indoor and outdoor track and field championships. He leads Hamilton into SUNY Oneonta's Airfield Invitational on Friday, Sept. 17.
