Hamilton College finished seventh out of 18 teams in the Williams College Fall Invitational, which was held at Taconic Golf Course in Williamstown, Mass., on Sept. 24 and 25.

Results

Julian Ophals '14 led Hamilton in a tie for 11th place out of 97 golfers with a 36-hole total of 152. Ophals carded a pair of 5-over-par 76s on the 6,787-yard layout.

2011 All-American Greg Scott '14 fired a 73 on Saturday, but closed with an 80 on the final day to tie for 13th place at 153. All of Scott's previous rounds this fall had been in the 70s.

Carter White '14 recorded a 77 on Saturday as the Continentals were in fourth place after the first round with a four-man team score of 306. Hamilton's team score jumped to 326 on Sunday, which added up to 632 for the tournament.

Salem State University captured the team title with a total of 592 shots. Manhattanville College was runner-up eight strokes back, and Williams took third at 605.

The Continentals compete in the NESCAC championship qualifier at Lyman Orchards Golf Club in Middlefield, Conn., on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 1 and 2.
