Hamilton College finished ninth out of 13 teams at the 2012 New York University/Manhattanville College Spring Invitational, which concluded on April 15 at Hampshire Country Club in Mamaroneck, N.Y.

RESULTS

Hamilton finished with a team total of 644 strokes for the two-day, 36-hole tournament. Hampshire CC has a par of 71 and measures 6,236 yards. Nationally ranked No. 18 Skidmore College captured the team title with a team score of 621, Middlebury College (624) was runner-up and the University of Rochester (625) came in third place.

Greg Scott '14 led the Continentals as he tied for 10th place out of 76 golfers at 154. Scott fired a 4-over 75 on Saturday and followed that with a 79 on Sunday. Scott -- a 2011 All-American -- has shot in the 70s or better in 15 of 16 rounds played in 2011-12.

Hamilton was in fourth place after the first day with a four-man team total of 318 shots. John Gailor '15 posted a collegiate-best 78 on Saturday.

The Continentals slipped to a team score of 326 on the second day. Carter White '14 matched Scott's 79 on Sunday.

Hamilton travels to Williamstown, Mass., for Williams College's NESCAC Spring Opener at Taconic Golf Club on Saturday and Sunday, April 21 and 22.
