Hamilton College tied for second place out of seven teams in the 2013 Hamilton Men's Golf Fall Invitational at Valley View Golf Course in Utica, N.Y., on Oct. 5.

A second round was scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 6, but heavy rain made some greens unplayable on the front nine and the round was canceled after players had completed only three or four holes. So, the tournament was shortened to an 18-hole event.

Seven Continentals broke 80 on the par-71 layout that measured 6,632 yards on Saturday. Mac Pivirotto '15 fired a career-best round of 72 and tied for third place out of 46 golfers.

Hamilton's Matt Yung '16 carded a 74 and tied for eighth place. Carter White '14 and Greg Scott '14 tied for 14th place with identical rounds of 75. White's round was a season-best, as was the 78 posted by Greg Reeves '17.

Gipper Gailor '15 tied for sixth place with a 73 and Chris Bousquet '16 added a 74 as both played as individuals. Their rounds didn't count towards the team score. Both rounds represented career bests for Gailor and Bousquet as Continentals.

Hamilton's team score was 296, which tied St. Lawrence University for runner-up status. New York University was one stroke better at 295 and the Violets captured the team title. NYU's Kyle Demshski and St. Lawrence's Jack Whelan tied for medalist honors at 2 under 69.

The fall season is over for the Continentals. Hamilton resumes play in March 2014.
