Hamilton College tied for seventh place out of 12 teams at the New York University/Manhattanville College Classic, which was held at Hampshire Country Club in Mamaroneck, N.Y., on Oct. 17.
The event was scheduled to be a two-day, 36-hole tournament, but Sunday's second and final round was cancelled due to heavy rain, high winds and unseasonably cool temperatures. Nationally ranked No. 5 Skidmore College won the team title with a four-man total of 296 strokes. Hamilton ended up at 319 with Rensselaer.
L.J. Scurfield '12 carded a 5-over-par round of 77 and tied for 16th place out of 67 golfers for the Continentals. Hans Schulte '13 posted a 78 and tied for 20th place. Scott Blosser '12 was another shot back in a tie for 27th place at 79. A Skidmore golfer earned individual medalist honors with a 4-under 68.
Hamilton's fall season is complete.
