Brian O'Malley '10 scored one goal and assisted on another, but Hamilton College lost 8-3 against host New England College in a NESCAC/ECAC East crossover game at Lee Clement Arena on Feb. 10.
Andrew Decristoforo '09 and Nate Miller '08 added goals for Hamilton (6-15-1 overall, 5-11-1 NESCAC). New England (13-9-1 overall, 11-5-1 ECAC East) received votes in the most recent USCHO.com Division III Top 15 poll.
Kyle Roulston '09 and Jared Leslie '09 were credited with assists. Decristoforo is tied for the team lead with eight goals. Roulston leads the Continentals with 12 assists and is tied for eighth in the NESCAC in defenseman scoring with 15 points.
O'Malley gave Hamilton an early 1-0 lead with his second goal this season just 48 seconds into the first period. The Pilgrims proceeded to score the next seven goals. Miller stopped New England's streak with his third goal at 11:08 of the third period. Decristoforo closed the scoring on a power play goal with 3:38 left.
Ian Stearns '10 started in goal for the Continentals and made 25 saves on 30 shots. Andrew Miller '10 entered the game with 8:46 left in the second period and finished with 11 saves.
The Pilgrims held a 44-31 advantage in shots and scored one short-handed goal. Hamilton was 1-for-10 on the power play and New England was 2-for-9 with the extra skater. A total of 23 penalties were called. The Continentals were without all-conference defenseman John Gordon '07 for the third straight game after he suffered an injury late against Colby College on Feb. 2.
Hamilton hosts nationally ranked No. 14 Middlebury College for a New England Small College Athletic Conference game at Sage Rink on Friday, Feb. 16, at 7 p.m.
