Joe Buicko '11 scored two goals and added an assist as visiting Hamilton College defeated University of Massachusetts Boston 5-2 in a NESCAC/ECAC East crossover contest at the Clark Athletic Center on Jan. 10.
Vaclav Tomicek '10, Jared Leslie '09 and Chris Lorenc '10 netted one goal each. Tomicek scored his second goal in three games. Lorenc leads Hamilton (5-4-1 overall, 4-2-0 NESCAC) with 10 goals and 14 points. Harry Biggs '10 was credited with two assists. Ian Stearns '10 made 24 saves in his first start in goal this season.
The Continentals jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first period and never trailed. The visitors added two goals in the second and one in the third for the win.
Hamilton held a commanding 41-26 advantage in shots. UMass Boston (5-5-2, 2-4-1 ECAC East) was 0-for-4 on power-play opportunities. Hamilton has allowed just seven power-play goals and the Continentals have killed 88.7 percent of their opponents' opportunities.
The Continentals travel to Amherst College for a NESCAC contest on Tuesday, Jan. 13.
