Hamilton College's Casey Deak '07 scored three goals to lead the Continentals to an easy 10-0 win against Castleton State College at Sage Rink on Jan. 22.

Hamilton (6-3-2 conference, 7-5-3 overall) had not scored as many as 10 goals in a single game since winning 13-4 at the University of Massachusetts-Boston in the first game of the 2002-03 season. The 10-goal differential is the Continentals' largest margin of victory since a 12-1 win against Salem State College during the 1999-2000 season. The Spartans (0-11-0, 0-15-0) are a recent addition to the ECAC East and were playing Hamilton for the first time ever.

Deak's hat trick was his first at Hamilton and the goals were his first three of the season. He scored all three goals during the Continentals' seven-goal third period outburst. Jeff Vautour '06 and Greg Cerra '06 added two goals apiece. Vautour has four goals in his last two games and Cerra netted the first goals of his career. Joe Buteau '08 and Josh Benson '06 also scored the first goals of their Hamilton careers. Jim Nolan '07 notched his first goal of the season and had an assist. John Gordon '07 and Chris Clarkson '07 assisted on three goals apiece. Buteau, Derek Elliott '07, Jon Peros '08 and Gus Katsuras '06 all had two assists. Katsuras and Gordon lead the Continentals with 14 assists apiece.

Gabe Tash '06 has been in net for both of Hamilton's shutouts this season. Tash made five saves and even assisted on a goal. Chad Long '08 and Brian Delorme '06 combined to stop 53 shots for Castleton.

Hamilton enjoyed a huge 63-5 advantage in shots. The Continentals host Elmira College in a non-conference game on Tuesday, Jan. 25, at 7 p.m.
