James Grebey '12 finished first in the 3,000-meter run and Graham Sadler '14 set a school record in the high jump as Hamilton College placed fifth out of six teams at the multi-divisional Colgate University Class of 1932 Invitational at Colgate's Sanford Field House on Jan. 28.

Results

Grebey led a 20-runner field with a time of 8:47.16 in the 3,000 meters. Will Tifft '14 was fourth in the 35-pound weight throw with a distance of 13.26 meters (43 feet, 6 inches), and Jeffrey Blackburn '13 took third place in the long jump with a leap of 5.24 meters (17 feet, 2.25 inches).

Sadler captured second place, but was the top collegiate athlete in the high jump with a height of 1.99 meters (6 feet, 6.25 inches). He had shared the school record with Mike Alleyne '87 at 1.98 meters since last Saturday at the Continental Invitational. Alleyne's mark had stood since 1984. Sadler also finished second in the triple jump with a mark of 12.25 meters (40 feet, 2.25 inches).

Division II Bloomsburg University won the team title with 183 points and SUNY Oneonta was second with 155. Hamilton racked up 69 points.

The Continentals host the Hamilton Invitational on Saturday, Feb. 4.
