
Hamilton College's Kevin Bancroft '08 scored three goals to lead the Continentals to a 9-3 win against Wheaton College (Mass.) at the Disney Sports Complex on March 15.
Hamilton (2-0 overall) will try to remain undefeated on Thursday, March 17, when it plays SUNY Potsdam at the Disney Sports Complex at 12:30 p.m.
Bancroft is tied for the team lead with four goals in two games. Mike Daley '07 notched two goals and Jack Newton '06 chipped in a goal and two assists. George Earle '05, Jim Henry '05 and Kevin St. John '06 also scored goals. Clark Winter '07 was credited with two assists. Ethan Shoemaker '07 made 12 saves in 55 minutes in goal and Andrew Watson '08 stopped one shot.
Trey Helms '07 led the Lyons with two goals and Andrew Rohan '07 scored the other goal. Nick Jones '07 made eight saves for Wheaton, which was playing its first game this season.
The Continentals led 4-2 at the break and put the Lyons away by shutting them out 3-0 in the third quarter for a 7-2 advantage. Earle won all seven of his face-offs and Hamilton won 12-of-14 overall. George Spilios '05 led the Continentals with five ground balls as Hamilton held a 48-36 advantage in that category.
