Hamilton College's Clark Winter '07 scored with 13 seconds left in the fourth quarter to lift the Continentals to an 8-7 Liberty League road win against nationally ranked St. Lawrence University on April 9.

Hamilton (1-1 league, 8-1 overall) hosts Clarkson University in another league contest on Wednesday, April 13, at 5 p.m.

Winter finished the game with four goals, which tied a career high, and was credited with an assist. Jim Henry '05 added a goal and three assists. Henry is tied for third place with John O'Brien '82 on the Continentals' all-time list with 92 goals. Mike Daley '07 chipped in a goal and an assist. Jack Newton '06 and Travis Modic '07 scored one goal apiece. Ethan Shoemaker '07 made four saves.

The defensive-oriented game was tied at 3 through three quarters of play, but the teams combined for nine goals in a wild final 15 minutes. The 19th-ranked Saints (1-1, 6-3) scored twice in the first 1:32 of the fourth quarter to take a 5-3 lead.

The Continentals retaliated with four straight goals, including two by Winter. Henry had a goal and two assists during the run. Winter assisted Modic on the goal that made it 7-5 with 1:58 left. St. Lawrence answered with two goals that tied the score with 52 seconds left. Just one week ago on April 2, Hamilton had lost a four-goal lead in the fourth quarter and fell 10-9 at Rensselaer. Winter made sure that wasn't going to happen two weeks in a row.
