Billy Hawkey '14 scored the game's lone goal and Casey Marini '14 stopped all six shots he faced to lead Connecticut College to a 1-0 win against Hamilton College in a NESCAC men's soccer game at Hamilton's Love Field on Sept. 17.

Conn. College (3-0-0 overall, 2-0 NESCAC) remained unbeaten and unscored upon through the first three games of 2011. Today's contest was the first between these two programs.

The Camels held a 7-2 shot advantage and took six corner kicks in the first half, but there was no score at the break. Conn. College didn't waste any time getting on the board in the second half.

Oscar Brown '12 stole an errant pass deep in the Continentals' defensive side, dribbled into the 18-yard box and slotted a pass across to Hawkey, who was alone in front of the goalkeeper. Hawkey buried the shot for his team-leading third goal in the 48th minute.

Eric Boole '13 made four saves for Hamilton, which was shut out for the second straight game. The Continentals dropped to 0-2-1 overall and in the NESCAC.

The Camels owned a 13-8 shot advantage, and took eight corner kicks to Hamilton's four. Conn. College had a chance to seal the victory late in the second half, but a shot on a breakaway opportunity hit the left post.

Hamilton travels to SUNY Institute of Technology for a non-conference game on Tuesday, Sept. 20. The Camels host Wesleyan University in NESCAC action on Wednesday, Sept. 21.
