Hamilton College's Trevor Bobola '15 scored early in the second half and the Continentals shut out the Wesleyan University Cardinals 1-0 in a NESCAC game at Hamilton's Love Field on Sept. 28.

The Continentals (2-2-2 overall, 1-1-2 NESCC) defeated Wesleyan for the first time in five all-time meetings dating back to 1972. The Cardinals (4-3-0, 3-1) came into the contest unbeaten and untied in conference play.
Trevor Bobola '15 scored the game-winner with 38:00 left in the second half. John McGuinnis '16, who leads the team with three assists, sent a cross through traffic from the left side and Bobola’s shot went into the net inside the far post. He leads Hamilton with three goals.
Both goalkeepers -- Wesleyan’s Emmett McConnell '15 and Hamilton’s Fred Porges '14 -- made three saves. Porges has two shutouts this season and he lowered his goals against average to 0.64. Hamilton outshot the Cardinals 11-8.
The Continentals host nationally ranked Amherst College for another NESCAC game on Saturday, Oct. 5. Wesleyan hosts Colby College in conference action on Saturday.
