Patrick Moriarty '14 and Brock Barritt '14 scored goals and Adam Purdy '13 posted his fourth shutout of the season to lead Wesleyan University to a 2-0 win over Hamilton College in a NESCAC game at Hamilton's Love Field on Sept. 25.

Wesleyan (5-0-1 overall, 5-0-0 NESCAC) maintained its perfect conference record and its spot atop the NESCAC standings.  The win also gave the Cardinals a 3-0-0 lead in the all-time series between the two programs.

On a corner kick in the 12th minute, Moriarty rose above the defense and sent a strong header past Hamilton goalkeeper Eric Boole '13 (2 saves) to put Wesleyan up 1-0. Steve Paresi '12 played the corner kick and was credited with the assist, his first of the year.

In the 67th minute, Barritt added the first goal of his collegiate career to make it 2-0.  After picking up a loose ball at the far left corner of the penalty area, Barritt lofted a shot over Boole's head, and into the far side of the Hamilton net.

Purdy stopped all three shots he faced for the Cardinals. Fred Porges '14 relieved Boole in goal for Hamilton in the 72nd minute.

Hamilton (1-4-1, 0-4-1 NESCAC) held a 14-8 shot advantage and both teams were credited with four corner kicks.

Hamilton travels to Bates College for a NESCAC game on Saturday, Oct. 1, at 2 p.m.
