The Hamilton College men’s soccer team picked up its first win of the season, blanking host SUNY Polytechnic 1-0 Tuesday night in Marcy. The Continentals improved to 1-2-0 on the season.

Box Score

Jack Temko ’18 scored his second career goal midway through the second period and Harris Pollack ’17 stopped three shots to record the shutout.

Temko’s goal was his second in as many games against the Wildcats and gave the Continentals their first lead of the year. It came in the 63rd minute with Hamilton playing a man up after SUNY Polytechnic’s Rohan Barton was ejected 12 minutes into the second half. Alec Talsania ’17 picked up the assist -- his first of 2015 -- on the play.

The Continental defense held SUNY Poly without a first-half shot on goal and Pollack turned aside the three Wildcat chances in the second to record his fourth career shutout.

Jess Yanarella made four saves for the host Wildcats.

Hamilton jumps back into NESCAC play Saturday, traveling to Hartford, Conn., for a 1:30 p.m. game against the Trinity Bantams.
