Jake DeConinck ’11 finished first in two freestyle events for Hamilton College, but the Continentals lost a dual meet to host Union College in Schenectady, N.Y., on Jan. 30.
 
The Dutchmen defeated Hamilton, 139-92. DeConinck took first place in the 50-yard free with a time of 22.24 seconds. He added another win in the 100 free as he touched the wall in 49.14 seconds.
 
Right behind DeConinck in the 100 free was Taylor Hogenkamp ’13, who finished in 49.43 seconds. Hogenkamp claimed another runner-up finish in the 200 free with a time of 1:48.21.
 
Bowie Sievers ‘11 earned a victory for Hamilton in the 200 individual medley, clocking a time of 2:00.98. Sievers was second in the 500 free with a time of 4:57.18.

Jared Mereness ‘10
captured first place in the 100 breaststroke in 1:02.39. In the 100 butterfly, Chris DeConinck '11 ended up third, but just .32 seconds behind the winner with a time of 54.41 seconds.
 
The Continentals return to action on Saturday, Feb. 6, when they host Rensselaer for a dual meet at Bristol Pool.
