Hamilton College captured the team title in the 2015 Hamilton Swimming and Diving Invitational, which was held at Bristol Pool on Friday and Saturday.

The Continentals' 1,075.5 team points easily eclipsed the total of 737 for runner-up SUNY Cortland. Six men's teams competed in the two-day event.

Ryan Cassidy '17 led Hamilton with two individual victories and another win as part of a relay. Cassidy finished first in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 4:58.54 and in the 1,650 free in 17:05.39. He was runner-up in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:15.64.

Cassidy led off a winning 800 free relay that posted a time of 7:19.59. The rest of the relay included John McBratney '16, Tripp Miller '18 and Case Tatro '18.

McBratney finished second in the 200 individual medley (2:03.97), second in the 200 free (1:49.30) and third in the 100 free (49.21 seconds).

Miller edged McBratney in the 200 IM with a time of 2:02.89, took fourth place in the 200 free (1:50.81) and was third in the 200 breast right behind Cassidy in 2:17.12.

Tatro was fourth in the 500 free (5:02.67) as the Continentals took four of the top five places in that event. He ended up third in the 200 free (1:50.47) as Hamilton swimmers filled up three of the top four places. He finished right behind Cassidy in second place in the 1,650 free with a time of 17:28.70.

In diving, Julian Ziaggi '17 earned the win in the 1-meter springboard with 259.70 points and was third in the 3-meter board with 229.00 points.

Jesse Bennett '19 finished second in the 500 free with a time of 5:00.85 and Scott Becker '17 landed in fifth place in the 50 free with a time of 22.84 seconds. Alex Jones '16 took third place in the 200 butterfly in 2:05.36 and in the 100 fly (54.23 seconds) and grabbed fourth place in the 100 breast (1:03.38).

Ben Cooper '18 was runner-up in the 100 backstroke with a time of 56.85 seconds, Trevor Pearson '18 ended up third in the 400 IM (4:33.20) and Luke Jeton '17 took fifth place in the 100 free (49.86 seconds).

The Continentals placed three swimmers in the top four of the 200 back. Jordan Allen '19 finished second with a time of 2:03.74, Pearson was next in 2:04.46 and Cooper landed in fourth place with a time of 2:05.06.

Hamilton is off until a home dual meet against Wesleyan University on Jan. 3 at 1 p.m.
