Hamilton College’s Taylor Hogenkamp ‘13 finished in first place in the 100-yard freestyle in a quadrangular meet held at Hamilton's Bristol Pool on Nov. 21.

Hamilton College fell to Hartwick College (132-99), Ithaca College (146-91) and to SUNY Geneseo (133-71.5) in the three dual meets. Hamilton returns to the pool on Dec. 5, when they travel to Wesleyan University for the two-day Cardinal Invitational.

Hogenkamp won the 100 free with a time of 48.57 seconds in what may have been the best event of the afternoon, and took third place in the 50 free with a time of 22.27 seconds. Jake DeConinck '11 was just .11 seconds behind Hogenkamp in third place in the 100 free. DeConinck earned a second place finish in the 200 free with a time of 1:47.56. He ended up just .36 seconds behind the winner.

Hamilton came in second place in the 400 medley relay with a time of 3:42.12. The team included Bowie Sievers ‘11, Jared Mereness ‘10, Steve Chaponis ‘10 and DeConinck. Sievers took second place in the 200 individual medley with a time of 2:01.37.
