Hamilton College was edged 5-4 by Wesleyan University in a New England Small College Athletic Conference match at Hamilton’s Gray Tennis Courts on April 3.
With the loss in its spring home opener, Hamilton fell to 3-4 overall and 1-1 in the NESCAC. Wesleyan improved its record to 9-4, 1-2 in NESCAC. Drew Libin ‘12 defeated his Wesleyan opponent at second flight singles by scores of 6-3, 6-3. At fifth flight singles, Mike Moreno ‘11 earned a 6-3, 7-5 win.
At first flight doubles, the team of Jon Franzel ‘13 and Libin won 8-5. Greg Kreitzer ‘11 and Coby Berman ‘12 teamed up to defeat their opponents 8-5 at third flight doubles.
The Continentals host Hobart College for a non-conference match on Wednesday, April 7.
