
Hamilton College's Jordan Petit '13 won both his singles and doubles matches and the Continentals edged Elmhurst College 5-4 in a non-conference match played in Orlando, Fla., on March 26.
Four of the six singles matches went to three sets and another had a pair of set tiebreakers. Hamilton (3-1 overall) won its third straight match. Elmhurst is ranked No. 17 in the Central region and the Continentals are No. 20 in the Northeast. Elmhurst's record dipped to 5-7.
Petit fought his way to a 7-6 (3), 7-6 (6) victory at third flight singles. He teamed with Kolya Kerz '13 for an 8-3 triumph at third flight doubles.
James Oliver '15 recorded a 6-2, 3-6, 6-0 win at first flight singles. Jon Franzel '13 was extended to three sets (6-3, 3-6, 6-1) in his victory at second flight singles. Matt Billet '15 and Buck Reynolds '15 won 8-6 at second doubles.
Hamilton wraps up its Florida trip with non-conference matches against the University of Missouri-Kansas City and Saint John's (Minn.) University on Wednesday, March 27.
