
Peter Kosgei '10 won two middle-distance events as Hamilton College competed in the multi-divisional, non-team scoring University of Rochester Invitational at Roberts Wesleyan University on April 11.
Kosgei finished first in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 4:00.65 and bested the field in the 800-meter run at 1:54.10. He qualified for the New York State Collegiate Track Conference (NYSCTC) championships in both events.
Cameron Gaylord '09 crossed the finish line in 10th place in the 800 at 2:02.22. James Grebey '12 was eighth in the 1,500 with a time of 4:12.54. Greg Fullman '09 posted a second-place finish in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 57.36 seconds.
Two Hamilton athletes finished in the top eight in the 10,000-meter run. Will Reid '10 was fifth with a time of 32:54.72 and Scott Bickard '11 ended up seventh at 33:50.22. Reid qualified for the NYSCTC meet in the event. Keith Gross '09 was sixth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase in 9:57.97, which qualified him for the state meet.
Joshua Orndorff '11 led Hamilton in the field events with a third-place finish in the shot put. Orndorff posted a mark of 13.82 meters (45-feet-4¼). Berk Ildiz '12 was seventh in the triple jump with a leap of 12.65 meters (41-feet-6). Both athletes qualified for the NYSCTC championships.
Hamilton hosts an invitational at Pritchard Track on Saturday, April 18.
