His poster presentation was titled “Creating a Regression Model to Predict Severe Thunderstorm Wind Gusts and Severe Hail in Upstate New York,” and was based on work with advisors Chief Meteorologist Bill Kardas (WKTV, Utica), Professor of Physics Gordon Jones, and Professor of Physics Brian Collett.

In 2017, Hosek was an intern at the National Weather Service in Binghamton, N.Y.
