Hamilton College’s Olivia Gozdz '16 (Darien, Conn./Darien HS) has been named NESCAC Softball Player of the Week. Gozdz went 15-for-29 in eight games last week as the Continentals went 5-3 during their spring trip to Florida.
Gozdz batted .517 with an .828 slugging percentage and an on-base percentage of .548, recording six multi-hit games. She collected six doubles and a home run, scored eight runs, drove in seven and stole three bases. Gozdz also handled 14 chances in the field without an error.
In a 2-1 win against Trinity College on March 18, Gozdz went 2-for-4 and doubled in the winning run. In a 7-1 win against Framingham State University on March 20, she singled, homered and drove in four runs. She went 3-for-3 with a walk, a hit by pitch and stole two bases in a 6-2 victory against Carleton College on March 22. She collected three more hits, including two doubles, later that day against Rochester Institute of Technology.
Hamilton (5-7 overall) is scheduled to play a NESCAC West Division series at Amherst College this weekend. The teams play a single game on Friday, March 27, and a doubleheader on Saturday.
