Greetings!
As the new Assistant Dean of Students for Multicultural Student Affairs, I am in the process of developing a vision that I hope will make a positive impact on student development and the overall campus climate at Hamilton College. I have been assigned a number of tasks, which include providing leadership for my division, designing programs, creating opportunities for the college to celebrate diverse cultures, nurturing relationships with various departments and student organizations, conducting ongoing assessments of the campus climate, and serving as an advocate for students at the college. In order to fulfill my objectives, I need your support.
When students arrive in the fall, they will be anxious to develop programs and activities that support the mission of their organizations. I am sure you are aware of how important these efforts are to the students and the Hamilton community. As I guide them in this process, I would like to provide a resource base of those who are willing to conduct lectures, facilitate discussions, serve on panels, participate in workshops, or engage in focus sessions about their overall experience on a given topic.
If you would like to participate in what is sure to be an exciting year of programming and student activity, please forward your name, department, research interests, hobbies, and experiences to my Email address. The office is planning a Leadership Forum on August 30-31. I would love to provide the students with a list of possible resources at that time.
