A new indoor practice facility will open this November, according to Athletics Director Jon Hind.

The building will provide the same outdoor turf as is found on Steuben and Withiam fields, allowing individuals to play multiple sports. In addition to a playing field area, the 28,000-square-foot building will include an enclosed batting cage for baseball and softball practice.

The building was designed by Alesia & Crewell Architects of New Hartford, N.Y., and is being constructed by Gaetano Construction, Utica, N.Y.

Hind said the building will benefit not only intercollegiate athletics but also the larger Hamilton community.

The $400 million campaign marked the most ambitious fundraising initiative in the College's history.
